Capstan Insurance Group, LLC (“Capstan,” “we,” “us”) is an independent insurance agency licensed in the State of Florida (Florida Agency License L132362), with offices at 242 S Washington Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34236. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and who it goes to.
This policy covers this website. If you become a client, you will receive a separate privacy notice covering the personal and financial information collected during an insurance application, as required for financial institutions.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), the topic you select, and anything you write in the message field. If you tick the newsletter box, we also record that consent.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical data when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, the site or search that referred you, and your browser and device type. This is collected by Squarespace, our website platform, through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us through this website, your Social Security number, date of birth, medical history, or account numbers. That information is collected securely later in the application process, not through a web form.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare for a conversation with you.
- To provide the insurance services you ask us for, including obtaining quotes and submitting applications to carriers on your behalf.
- To send you email updates, if and only if you asked for them.
- To understand which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site.
- To meet our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to do the work, and only with:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, including the firms that process insurance applications, handle carrier appointments, and support our back office. They may use your information only to perform those services for us.
- Insurance carriers and their underwriters, when you ask us to obtain quotes or submit an application. Once information reaches a carrier, that carrier's own privacy policy also applies.
- Squarespace, which hosts this website and stores form submissions.
- Google, through the reCAPTCHA service that protects our form from automated abuse. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that service.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are required to by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies set by Squarespace to keep the site working and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site, including the contact form, may not work properly if you do.
Your choices
- Email updates. If you opted in, every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also just ask us and we will remove you.
